BC Burn Fund Centre unvails its Photo Concrete Wall

On June 21, 2015 the BC Burn Fund Centre unveiled it's feature Photo Concrete wall.  The photo taken by Allan de la Plante depicts a firefighter holding a child with another beside him at a fire scene.  The technique used on this wall is Photo Concrete.  This is a new process of embedding a photo into the concrete.

I took Nathan down to see the festivities.  When we got there, we went to the BC Burn Fund Centre table at the front of the building to get his book signed by some more fire fighters.  After we got a few fire fighters to sign the book, Nathan was taken to the podium where they were getting ready to do the unveiling and we were introduced to Michael Hurley, the president of the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund.

We chatted for a moment before the festivities started and Nathan told him about the book and how we were donating proceeds of the book to the BC Burn Fund.  Nathan got Michael to sign the book and then we took our place in the crowd with everyone else.

And then the festivities began.  Dawn Chubai from CityTV Breakfast Television was the Master of Ceremonies for this event.  She started off by singing O'Canada, then talked a bit about the BC Burn Fund Centre before turning the festivities over to Michael Hurley.

She then came over to the side of the tent and Nathan started telling her about the book.  It took her a minute to recognize him as she hasn't seen him.  After all, she hasn't seen him  he was 6 years old.

Michael said a few short words then called Nathan to come up to the stage so that he could introduce Nathan and our book.  He asked Nathan if he wanted to say a few words.  For the first time in history, Nathan didn't have anything to say.

Then for the big show.  Two Vancouver Fire Fighters repelled down the side of the building revealing the photo wall.
