Ellen DeGeneres

ellen-degeneres

We've finally gotten Santa and His Super Hero illustrated.  Thanks to Nathan's teacher Mrs. Shinkewski and the Division 6 class at Harbour View Elementary School.  One of the things that we need before it can be published is to get the book endorsed.  When asking around, the obvious person to endorse it is Santa Clause.  Unfortunately he is a bit busy at the moment.  When talking to other parents about who I should get to endorse it, a good majority suggested Ellen DeGeneres.

Why Ellen DeGeneres?

I am a big fan of Ellen DeGeneres.  When watching the show, I notice that her demographic seems to be women who may have children of the age that they might like to have a book about Santa and Firefighters.

As you may already know, the proceeds of this book will be donated to the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund.  The more exposure we get, the more books we sell... The more books we sell, the more money will be given to the Burn Fund.  It takes quite a bit of money to publish a book.  We recently started a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the publication of this book.

Our goal is to make Thirty Five Thousand dollars with the crowdfunding.  This will pay for the publication of the book and any expenses that we might incur launching the book.  In addition to getting the book published, we would like to give 200 books to the Young Burn Survivors Camp, 200 books to the BC Children's Hospital and 100 books to the BC Burn Fund Centre.

How can you help?

There are a few ways that you could help us get Ellen's attention.

1)  Dear Ellen

This is a section for questions, comments, or suggestions for the Ellen show?

  1. Go to Ellen's Send to Ellen page by clicking here.
  2. Fill out the form telling Ellen about our book.
  3. Attach a photo.  There are many places to find photos to attach.

I will be adding more photos to the galleries so you will have lots to chose from.

2)  Nominate a Deserving Person in Need

Ellen writes  "Do you know an amazing person who could use Ellen's help? Maybe it's a person who always puts your needs before their own, someone who keeps a positive attitude through tough times, or a neighbor who has changed your community, or a teacher who goes above and beyond. Does this person deserve a vacation, a car, or a call from Ellen?

This season, Ellen's gonna keep giving back!"

Santa and His Super Hero is not just a children's story.  It educated children about some of the things that firefighters do.  As our part in giving back, we will be donating proceeds from the sale of this book to the BC Professional Firefighters' Burn Fund.

In order to launch the book before Christmas 2016, we are going to need help to raise money.

  1. Go to Ellen's Nominate a Deserving Person in Need page by clicking here.
  2. Fill out the form telling Ellen about how we are trying to help others.
  3. Attach a photo.  There are many places to find photos to attach.

I will be adding more photos to the galleries so you will have lots to chose from.

3) Nominate Someone for Their Incredible Kindness

Ellen writes "If you know someone who has performed an act of kindness, tell us about it! Is this a person who is struggling financially that helped someone else in need? If their actions moved you, we want to hear about it. Tell us what they did and why they could also use some help, right here."

  1. Go to Ellen's Nominate Someone for Their Incredible Kindness page by clicking here.
  2. Fill out the form telling Ellen about how we are trying to help others.
  3. Attach a photo.  There are many places to find photos to attach. (for this one, you will need to download a photo into your computer)

I will be adding more photos to the galleries so you will have lots to chose from.

Thank you for your help!
